🔍 Description:

Mundisal® Gel is a topical oral gel formulated to provide rapid relief from pain and inflammation associated with various oral conditions. Its active ingredients work synergistically to alleviate discomfort and promote healing in the oral mucosa.

📋 Key Information:

• Active Ingredients:

  • Choline Salicylate (8.71% w/w): A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.

  • Cetalkonium Chloride (0.01% w/w): An antiseptic agent that helps prevent secondary infections in oral lesions

• Indications:

  • Relief from pain and inflammation due to:

    • Mouth ulcers (aphthous stomatitis)

    • Herpes simplex lesions

    • Denture irritation and stomatitis

    • Minor oral wounds and abrasions

    • Teething discomfort in infants and young children

    • Irritation from braces and dental prosthetics

• How to Use:

  • Adults and Children over 2 years: Apply approximately 1 cm of gel to the affected area using a clean finger, gently massaging it in. Repeat every 3–4 hours as needed.

  • Children aged 4 months to 2 years: Apply about 0.5 cm of gel to the affected area using a clean finger, gently massaging it in. Repeat every 3–4 hours as needed.

• Onset and Duration of Action:

  • Pain relief typically begins within 2–3 minutes of application and can last for approximately 2–5 hours.

• Formulation Details:

  • Alcohol Content: Contains ethanol (approximately 43% v/v); caution is advised for individuals who need to avoid alcohol.

  • Sugar-Free: Yes

  • Flavour: Menthol and anise oil for a pleasant taste

  • Appearance: Clear, colourless to slightly yellowish, viscous gel

  • Packaging: Available in 8 g and 10 g tubes

• Storage:

  • Store below 25°C.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

  • After opening, use within 12 months.

⚠️ Precautions:

• Contraindications:

  • Do not use if allergic to salicylates, choline salicylate, cetalkonium chloride, or any other ingredients in the gel.

  • Not recommended for use in the last trimester of pregnancy.

• Warnings:

  • Avoid excessive use; do not apply more than 8–10 times daily.

  • Do not exceed a daily dose of 250 mg of choline salicylate (approximately one-third of a tube).

  • Use with caution in individuals with a history of salicylate sensitivity or those taking anticoagulant medications.

• Side Effects:

  • Possible side effects include local irritation, allergic reactions, or salicylate toxicity if used excessively.

  • Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, tinnitus, nausea, vomiting, and confusion.

  • In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
